Will You Help?
Text Box: Rounded Rectangular Callout: Say, “I have some scripture for you, if you’d like?” Then just hand it to them, unless they refuse it; most people take it. You see them start to read it; it’s great! Then you say, “So tell me…” and that’s when you use your diagnostic question.
Rounded Rectangular Callout: I’m shy by nature. What do I say about God? How do I begin a conversation?
Rounded Rectangular Callout: So, I just hand them scripture and that gets the conversation started. And, since I’ve given them the Word, the Lord can speak to them then or later.

Obedient Evangelism defines Jerusalem, in relation to Acts 1:8, to be more than the city in which you live. There is a Jerusalem which is being overlooked in many circles. It is the first level of what Jerusalem really is: Your Daily Walk.

JERUSALEM IS IN YOUR MIDST. Your Jerusalem is all around you waiting on you to act when the Holy Sprit says to act. Obedient Evangelism starts with your beginning place for evangelism, your Jerusalem. You should begin your evangelistic efforts in your daily walk. Then, after having been obedient, the Lord will move you onto Judea, Samaria and the remotest parts of the earth.

someone brings that person to Jesus (their conversion: being born again) and (3) continuing to say and do, with everyone, what the Holy Spirit leads you to do and say. That is why Jesus said for us to make disciples. Everything you do along this line is a part of making disciples.

If, with someone, you only sow a few seeds of truth from Scripture (look at how Jesus spoke to people) and that’s it, if that’s all the Holy Spirit led you to say, then you have done your part to make disciples (with that person at that point in time). Later, with that same person God may have you share the Gospel or He may send someone else to do that.

If you do what the Holy Spirit says you will make disciples, because listening to and following His voice (the Spirit of Jesus), walking by the Spirit, is never contrary to the Word of God.

This does not mean that sowing seeds of truth is all you do. Definitely not. We are to preach the Gospel to all creation (Mark 16:15) and go out and invite people into the Kingdom of God.

When we look at this the right way, understanding what discipling really is, we can see where we are and are not being obedient to Matthew 28:19 and therefore fulfill this command of Jesus.

In short, discipling is doing your part in the making of a child of God, as you bring people to God through Jesus Christ and build them up.

The best way to get started is to just get started. The best way for most people to do that, is to commit.

Obedient Evangelism emphasizes obeying the Holy Spirit’s guidance in each and every encounter you have with other people. There are only suggested methods to evangelize, for you to better learn.

We believe it is best to listen to the different things the Holy Spirit says regarding each individual you evangelize. This is how evangelism was done in the Bible. Jesus always based what He said on the people around Him. The Holy Spirit also led Phillip, Paul and Peter to evangelize in this manner.

Obedient Evangelism is listening to the Spirit of Jesus. Jesus wants you to say different things to different people. Different people have different needs so you must say what the Spirit says to address these different needs.

Obedient Evangelism teaches that the place to begin evangelism is in your Jerusalem. This is a person’s every day walk and where one should always evangelize, no matter where he or she progresses.

Obedient Evangelism’s purpose is to win souls to Jesus, first and foremost (Proverbs 11:30). Then, we proceed from there to continue to disciple as, for example, this site is discipling you.

Discipling begins with sowing seeds and progresses through saving souls, then continues to progress to what is commonly called discipling believers.

What is often misunderstood is that the first acts of discipling are (1) sowing seeds of truth with the Word and (2) sharing the Gospel (which may or may not have been done earlier) where you or

Isaiah 25:1 O lord, Thou art my God; I will exalt Thee, I will give thanks to Thy name; For Thou hast worked wonders, Plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness. NASB
